Events for Faculty, Students and Emerging Professionals at PMI Global Conference and LIM

PMI Global Conference Events

Global Conference is PMI’s flagship event each year, attracting thousands of like-minded professionals for three days of top-notch learning, networking and fun.

The David I. Cleland Project Management Literature Award Presentation: The Cleland Award recognizes the author of a published book that significantly advances project management knowledge, concepts, and practice. The 2018 Cleland Award will be announced and presented during the PMI® Professional Awards Gala on 6 October.

The Art of Teaching: Good and Applied Practices in Project Management Course Development: This presentation will highlight examples of good practices in project management education from the perspective of a practitioner turned academic. It will not focus on certification or training, but instead on academic course development for project management students in degree programs.

Trends from Academia: Research Outcomes, Career Path of Students, and Developments in PM Education: This session will highlight recent PMI-funded research, particularly with regard to the career path of students and trends in how project management is being taught and accredited.

Award Presentation for Recently Accredited Programs: Following the Trends from Academia session, PMI Academic Programs and the Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education will present accreditation awards to the following institutions:

  • City University of Seattle School of Management for their Bachelor of Science in Project Management and Master of Science in Project Management
  • Western Carolina University College of Business for their Master of Project Management Degree Program


PMI North America Leadership Institute Meeting Events

Join chapter leaders from across the globe at the PMI® Leadership Institute Meeting 2018—North America to engage in a collaborative, inspiring event where you and your colleagues can share your successes and develop leadership skills to operate and sustain the values and vision of your chapter.

Networking Event for Emerging Professionals: PMI Academic Programs will host an exclusive networking reception for emerging leaders and professionals in the project management profession. The event will take place at the GRAMMY Museum in the L.A. Live complex, where attendees will have the opportunity to explore exhibits celebrating the history and legacy of all forms of music while meeting fellow chapter leaders and Global Conference attendees.
